| Incident Corporal Damian Lawrence, 25, was killed during a patrol in the village of Kajaki in southern Afghanistan on 17 February, 2008. The father-of-one, who was a member of the 2nd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment, was injured by a bomb blast during a joint UK-Afghan operation to clear compounds in the area. He was born in Scarborough, North Yorkshire and raised in nearby Whitby, joining the Army at 16. | |
